Giving to the community.
At Nautilus – our focus goes beyond deadlines and profit driven activities. We like to give back to our local community as well as provide opportunities to uplift those that are driven to do so, but lack the means. As part of our social responsibly programme we are sponsoring two young local kids through their schooling.
We first met Motshidisi Maloi as a bubbly 4 year old when she accompanied her grandmother (Agnes Mofokeng, our cleaning lady) on an outing. We immediately saw she had huge potential with her outgoing, vivacious and fiery attitude and decided to put her straight away into pre‐school, where she developed in leaps and bounds. She arrived in KZN speaking only Sotho, but within months was conversing in isiZulu and English as well. She transitioned into pre‐school so smoothly like it was her own backyard. Motshidisi is now in grade 2 at Curro Mount Richmore in Salt Rock. She is coping well with her academics and in addition does ballet, modern dancing, netball and swimming.
Simba Funguro is our other sponsored child. He too is at Curro Mount Richmore in grade 5. Not only does Simba do well in academics, but he also excels in cricket and rugby and is a stalwart in both his age‐group teams. Simba always has a smile on his face, and he is destined to do well. A future sharks rugby player indeed!
